My tavern shelf is now hanging in it’s new place in the dining room. I love how it turned out! I painted it black, sanded the edges plus a few other spots, and then rubbed antiquing gel all over it to give it a prim feel. I’m still not finished decorating it…I’m having a hard time deciding what I want on the middle shelf, but I took a picture anyway so that I could show it to all of you. Any ideas for the middle shelf ?
We are going to work on another project this weekend and I can’t wait to share what it is when we are done. All I’m going to say is that it has to do with my kitchen. For those of you that have been reading my blog for a while might remember that I started redoing the kitchen a very long time ago. I put it on hold because things weren’t turning out like I thought they would. So now comes Plan B…
My sister Vicki made this pretty bouquet to hold while she got married on Dec. 28th. I’m so happy for her!! When I got married almost 30th years ago…my sister’s marriage was falling apart and she has been single for all these years. She raised her 3 children all by herself and was so busy being a mother that she just didn’t date. She said it never really bothered her until her kids all left home, but wondered at her age if she would ever meet anyone. Well, I’m happy to say that Micheal enter her life 2 years ago. They got engaged this past summer and were trying to save money for a wedding…but the opportunity came up for them to purchase a home and they decided that their money would be better spent there. So they decided that they wanted to get married before the end of the year and before they close on their house.
It was a very casual ceremony with just our parents, Gary & I, and Vicki’s daughter Jenifer & her newest grand-baby Kitty being there with them . They got married by the mayor of our small town at the village hall and afterwards we all went out to eat. Congratulations Micheal and Vicki…I wish you many happy years together!!
This is Kitty…Oh what a cutie!! And this is Kitty at the resturant after her grandma got married.
She was determined to wear Vicki’s glasses, but grandma decided it was better that she wear them on top of her head.
Kitty’s daddy is in Iraq right now, but will be home at the end of January. Jenifer and her came back home for 7 months from California to be near family while JT was overseas. We are all so happy that he will be home soon, but oh how we will miss them when they go back to California. We have heard that they might be soon stationed to GA…which we are all hoping for. It is not so far away that they can come home to visit more often and we can also go to visit them. We have other relatives on my hubby’s side of the family that live in GA also. There just might be a road trip in our future!!
Until next time… prim blessings, Cindy
