~Prim Game Boards & Old Rolling Pins~

As most of you know, I was having a hard time trying to figure out what to put on my tavern shelf. So after looking through some Country Sampler magazines…I decided that maybe that middle shelf needed a game board. I use to sell game boards back in the 80’s and still had a few that I never finished in my craft cupboard. …so I got out the paint & stencils

img_2276 I painted the larger game board in this picture back in the summer and the smaller one with the red stars is one that I did today. These game boards are on the shelf that is above my quilt that hangs on the wall.

img_2273 Here is the other game board that I painted today…now on my redecorated tavern shelf. I love how the shelf looks now!!…and I didn’t spend a lot money to get this look! I found the little mustard jar at the GW for $1.50. It still had the sticker on the bottom from where it was originally purchased and it was from one of my favorite prim shops here in town. The old rolling pin came from a neighbor’s garage sale for $1.00.  A friend gave me the blue speckled crock…she found it in the basement of their house when they moved in. The old wood boards I got at the GW for $1.00 each. The little tin gingerbread man cookie cutter is actually really rusty, but in didn’t show up that way in the picture…got it and the plates from a local craft store for $7.00.

img_2270 I also started working on 6 rolling pins to list on my selling blog and etsy. I have a few ladies that are interested in purchasing one. I got some of the rolling pins at a garage sale and picked up a few from the GW. Just wish I had more of them…but the hunt is half the fun. I’ll post some photos of them as I get them finished. If you missed seeing the one I made back in the summer…here it is.

img_1130 I did this one for a friend’s birthday gift as she loves raggedy dolls and gingerbread men. I’m not sure just yet what I’m painting on the ones that I working on right now. I only have the base coat on all of them right now…but I know that they will have a prim feel to them!!

I will have some photos to share on the kitchen soon…we have some of the tin backsplash up, but have not worked on it for a few days as we have been helping our daughter get her stuff moved. Her bedroom looks a little emptier every day. We are moving the bigger items on Saturday, so might not get back to the kitchen until after that…but I get a fun day tomorrow. My sister is taking me shopping as my Christmas gift. How fun!! I can’t wait to see where we are going and what I get to pick out for my present.

Updated:  I got 2 wonderful awards from Gina at “Cat Nap Primitives” a few days ago and told her I would share them on my next post…and I forgot.
