~Prim Goodies & Pics of the Kitchen~

Hi everyone..it’s been a while since my last post, but a lot has been going on.  Gary’s sister’s MIL passed away on Tuesday just before mid-night. She was also a very close friend of Gary’s mother. We knew her well… over the years there has been a lot of gatherings with their and our families. This past week has been very hard for my husband’s side of the family and for our BIL, plus his brother & sister’s families.

On a happier note…my oldest daughter turned 28 yesterday and Josie came over today so we could make a birthday cake for her mommy, while we wore our matching aprons. Now let me explain…the prim gal in me wanted to make our aprons out of some country homespun fabric, but the grandma in me decided we would go with the bright cheerful fabric that Josie really wanted. I can always make the prim apron to wear when it is just me in the kitchen.

img_2283  Remember these candles that my sister got me…this is what I did with them.

img_2308 I put them on my rusty candle stick holders  that are on my mantel down in the family room. I just got the sheep make-do candle holder a few days ago at my favorite craft supply store…it also has a home decor section. I think I’m going to paint the little star and the finial black.

img_2311 I also picked this candle holder up at the craft store… there is actually a tin tart pan attach to the bottom of it for a candle. I thought this would look good in either the kitchen or the dining room.

So here is peek at the backsplash….as you can see, we still have a little more to put up. We also need to cover the light plate covers. Once all the backsplash is up, I’m going to start painting the cabinets.

img_2313 I’ll post more photos as we continue working on the kitchen. Also have some prim goodies almost finished to list on-line for sell.

Until next time…    prim blessings, Cindy
