It’s the 24th of March…so only 5 days until my 50th birthday! Which means you have 5 more times that you can enter your name to win this wonderful sheep made by me. You can enter once a day through March 28th and I’ll be picking the winner on the 29th.
You can get to the “Sheep Giveaway” by going to the top of my sidebar and click on March 1st that is highlighted in red on the calendar. So if you really like that sheep…you might want to add your name again.

I really had alot of fun last week on both of my girls days out with a friend of mine. So here are Fridays goodies~
Our first stop was to the GW…the shelves were a little empty, but it was morning and I find that when you go on a Friday; that mid to late afternoon is when they really stock the shelves…getting ready for Saturday morning. But I did find one goodie that I just had to have…this sheep game board for $1.99. I thought the price was great as it is a fairly large piece.
I am going to give him a little makeover as he has some paint missing on his face…and I might add something down either side of the checker-board. I’ll show you the redo next time I post.
Our next stop was to one of our favorite thrift shops. Wait until you see all the goodies I got for $12.00. Everything in the shop was 30% to 70% off and I had a $10.00 off coupon that could be used also.
An old sewing drawer…which I’ll use in my sewing/crafting area.
An old rolling pin…which will go in a crock with the others in my kitchen once I clean it up a bit.
And a ”Williamsburg Pottery” pitcher with blue flowers. I just love it!
We then went to lunch at McD’s…that way we had more to spend at the shops and then on we went to another little shop that is half thrift shop…half gift shop. On a past post I showed some painting patterns and one of them was of a prim scence painted on an old coffee pot.
Yep…I finally found a coffee pot.
Our last stop was our favorite country shop…I had a coupon to get a free greeting card, a $5.00 off coupon, and a $5.00 gift card that the shop sent to me for my birthday. Oh happy day…what fun to get free goodies for my birthday!!
I used my $5.00 off coupon towards this sugar bucket. I’ve wanted one for a long time, but just couldn’t find any. I love the aged looking blue color!! Ignore the bow that seems to attached to the sugar bucket…it isn’t; that is a bow tied to my wedding album. Think I need to move the album or the sugar bucket.
This is the free card that I picked up. I’m thinking about framing it.
Now for what I used my $5.00 gift card on…which brings me to some bathroom pics.
I got the little burgundy oval wood bowl and the clothes pins with my gift card. I placed them on the shelf that is built into the cabinet above the potty. I’m going to put some gel stain on the bird make-do and star make-do. I’m slowly redecorating this room…it is our hall bathroom. This is the one that the girls used while growing up and now that we are empty nesters; it is our guest bathroom… and I’m having fun decorating the way I want it. Here are a few more pictures of the room…some of the photos were in posts a while back, but I thought that I would share them again. I’m planning on decorating it more country than what it is now.
Cupboard to hold extra bathroom necessities.
These are hanging to the right of the cupboard in the picture above.
This is on the wall right inside beside the door. I’m either going to put gel stain on the shelf unit or paint it. Also thinking about changing out the picture in the frame. I need to get a new shower curtain, but not sure yet if I am going to purchase it or make it…and I want to put some embroidery on the shower curtain as I have some great border designs. We are also wanting to put in an old fashion facet on the petal-stool sink and to put up some old looking tile for a back-splash behind the facet. So I’ll share more photos as I continue working in there.
Also need to get my kitchen finished!! I’m still unsure about a few things in there like…Will it be too much if all the cabinets are painted Library Red? Should I paint the range-hood, the micro-wave cabinet, and the long skinny cupboard a different color? Maybe black or mustard gold? Any suggestions? (Nope, you can’t see the whole kitchen until it’s done…well maybe a few peeks soon.)
This is what the range-hood looks like…the cabinets beside it are now library red. I thought that by painting the range-hood a different color that it would make it more of a focal piece. What do you think?
Kind of a long post…I haven’t posted in a while since I had Josie from Friday until late last night, but this grandma and her sure had alot of fun!! Until next time…. blessings, Cindy

Cindy,
I recently saw a kitchen that had the upper cupboards one color and the bottom another. It was wonderful. I would paint pieces of paper and put them where you think you would like the change and then leave them for few days.
Wonderful goodies. I will take the drawer off your hands and that lovely picture in your bathroom. LOL My favs.
Have a wonderful day.

You got a lot of goodies. I see a lot of those drawers in our consignments and one day I found a bunch of Williamsburg pottery in a thrift, so I grabbed it. I kept the candle holders and gave the rest as gifts.

Oh lots of goodies!! Sounds like fun!!
I say paint the hood black – a satin finish – not too glossy and maybe the other two things the same color. It would be a great contrast!!

Good morning Cynthia!
You left me a comment on my blog about the recipe boxes that you have…they sound just like the round Easter box I did.
I sprayed the box (which had a shiny surface too ) with red primer first, let dry and then proceeded to paint, the primer covers the graphics on the box and the shiny surface. I hope this helps:)
Have a great day,

Gosh Cindy I’m awe struck at the things you got for the amount you said you spent.
I think out of all of it is the blueish Firkin bucket – it’s jut beautiful and if it isn’t an antique it sure looks like one.
Love the bathroom pictures too.
Everything you do is really fun to look at and I’m anxious to see how the sheep game board turns out with some ‘tweaking’ – it’s cute now so should really be cute afterwards.
