Hi everyone…I’m back home from spending 4 days in the hills of Tennessee. DH and I took his parents to visit with family and to decoration days at their family cementaries.

We had a wonderful trip…the weather was good and spending time with family was great. I even had time to stop by 2 quilt shops…I share my fabric finds on my next post in a few days. Thought on this post I would share some of the beauty of the area in which we stayed…around the Rockwood and Crossville area.
I love seeing the mountains in the morning when the smokey fog is coming up off them. I had so missed being in the mountains of Tennessee as it had been 18 months since our last visit here.
I believe that this picture was taken on the way to my DH’s Aunt Linda’s home. And the next photo was taken just down the road from his Aunt Alice’s home….now let me just say that this is my dream house!! I have always wanted a house with a porch like this…with rocking chairs, a swing, and dormers.
Just think of all the wondeful things that you could put on this porch!!
On our way home, we traveled north on St Rt 127…the famous route of the Endless Garage that is held every year in August. We had not travel home this way before and Wow was it a pretty drive!
This was our view looking to the right…
and this was our view looking to the left… Cumberland Lake in Kentucky.
But the cutest view was seeing this in the van.
I have more pictures to share of my DH’s Aunt Linda’s home where we stayed and I will share them on my next post in a few days, but I do want to share with everyone what I won from Carey at “American Girl Primitives N Such” blog”s giveaway.
Carey, thanks so much…I love it all! The candle is sitting on my stove-top and the card…Im going to frame it and hang it in the master bathroom. And this is where I put the little primitive doll and the homespun towel.
The towel is hanging over the edge of one of my old ironing boards and the little doll is in the cheese basket with a primitive raggedy annie that I got from a swap buddy. Thanks again Carey. If you all have not been by her blog, I hope you will stop by and say hi to her…she just starting blogging in April.
Until next time….. blessings, Cindy

Welcome back from that wonderful trip. The pictures sure brought back memories for me as we try to get to the Smokies once a year. I truly love that area and am ready to go back now!
I have been on the 127 Garage Sale……………….it is great! The picture of that home is beautiful and that porch……………..I can just see it all primmed up, too.
Love your goodies from Carey’s give-away and what you did with them.
Well, time to get to work. I will be chatting with you soon.

Cheryl

P.S. How are your neighbors that had the fire? Did they determine what started it?

Your pictures are great. We live just off of US 127 in Ohio. In fact, it is one of the first or last (depending on which direction you are heading) that participate in the annual garage sale. We had one last year and did very well. Our landscape isn’t nearly as pretty as what you saw. Just flat fields as far as you can see. Thanks for sharing your photos. I love your giveaway goodies. Good for you!!

Thanks for the beautiful pics of TN! My SIL and her family live in Cedar Hill, TN. The hills remind me of western PA where I live. They are so pretty!

How lucky for you to have been in Tennessee. We spent a couple of days there last year. It was a first for us and I’m sure we will go back in the future. Lucky you for winning Carey’s gifts. I love where you put everything. That puppy of yours is down right precious.

Beautiful pics, Cindy! That home is just gorgeous!! Love the hills, I used to live in OH, moved here, to PA, and of course everyone in PA called me a “flat lander” when I first moved here! I love the hills…not many in OH. At least where I was from.
Love your pup and her pretty pink harness, I mean necklace!;)
Congrats on your win
have a wonderful weekend.
