It seems that we have been so busy since we got home from our trip…I feel like I’ve been going nonstop. We went to Lowes today to get some hardwood floor cleaner…we have some dirty spots on the floor of my new sewing room that don’t want to come clean. Hopefully, the floor cleaner will work because once we get the spots off the floor…it is time to move the machines in. I can’t wait!!! Anyways, after going to Lowes…we stopped by the GW and look what I found!!
A little Windsor chair…it is sitting on top of the old jeweler’s cupboard. Cost was $2.89.
A small shelf with pegs…this is going in my new sewing room. I’m going to put it near my embroidery machine to hang my hoops on. I like the painted finish on it and am not going to redo it. Cost was $2.50.
Now I must say that this wood tray needs some TLC…so it will be getting a redo for sure!! This is also going in my new room to hold thread or sewing supplies. Cost was $1.49.
My last find at the GW was this breadbox…it looks brand new, but it is getting a redo as it is too light in color for my taste. I’m either going to paint it or darken it with gel stain and then I’ll stencil or paint a prim design on the front of it. We are going to use this in the kitchen to hide our cell phones when charging them. Cost was $2.99.
Needless to say…it was a great day for treasures at the GW!!
Also found some great fabrics yesterday and while I was in Tennessee. I have some pillow and pillow tuck orders that I’m working on…and was needing some star and novelty prints for the back fabrics of them.
This is the fabric that I got while on our trip. I went to a little quilt shop in town and then Linda (DH’s aunt) took me to another one that was at a ladie’s home. It was a small shop, but very nice…they had turned part of their garage into the shop. She had a little sign above the door that said “Quilts”…the shop was very charming. I also got a tour of a cabin on their property and of their home. It was wonderful…I loved the cabin and their home!! It’s the first time I’ve ever been to a quilt shop out in the countryside of the mountains…and we even saw a rainbow on our drive over.

This is the other fabrics that I got yesterday….I just love the homespun with the flags and the sheep fabric. I can’t wait to see the star fabric on the backs of the little patriotic pillow tucks…I’ll share some pictures when I get them done.
Oh…I almost forgot…
My 2 daughters, Josie and I went to see last year’s American Idol, David Cook, in concert on Wednesday night. He was playing at the small local college down in town…which is about 15 minutes from where I live.
I forgot my camera and took these pictures with my cell-phone…so he looks far away, but our seats were only 8 rows from the stage. We had alot of fun and the concert was awesome!!
Hope everyone has a great weekend and I’ll be back in a few days to share the photos of Linda’s home, where we stayed while in Tennessee. Until next time…. blessings, Cindy
