This week sure has gone by quickly…I’ve been busy working on orders and a birthday gift for my friend Linda. She loves bunnies, so of course I had to make her a rabbit make-do.
The pattern is called Fly-Away Hare”. I added my own touches with a machine embroidered applique star and a wood hang-tag that I stamped the words fly-away hare on to. I really like how it turned out and she loved it!!

There sure hasn’t been any good finds at the GW in the last few weeks, but I wanted to show you these little miniature pieces of pottery that I found there.
I couldn’t past them up as they were only .29 cents each and they fit perfectly into this old wood tray that I have hanging on the wall.

I did take some time off from working on orders this week to go to a quilt shop hop with Linda. We had a lot of fun and got lots of goodies!! Can a girl have too much fabric or too many patterns? LOL…
When I saw this fabric panel…I knew that I just had to get it and make a quilt wall-hanging. Not sure just yet on where I’m going to hang it, but I can’t wait to get started on it.
Thought I would show you a close up of part of the fabric panel…
It’s so wonderful!!
I also got these coordinating fabrics that went with the panel. Now all I need to figure out is how I want to make this quilt wall-hanging…which fabrics to use where. Hmmm…guess I’ll have to give this some thought.
Just look at this book that I picked up…it is called “With these hands”. It’s such a great book…not only is there projects in the book for you to make, but they also show those projects in room settings…so it is like getting a decorating book also!!
Love this bird pattern!! I plan to made this as soon as I get my orders finished up this coming week. The bird is a fairly large…12″ tall x 10″ wide…and when I get him all done, he is going to sit on my tavern shelf with the living room.
I also got a pattern to make a fabric wallet and a couple of Fall/Halloween patterns, which I’ll share in a future post. It is getting to be that time of year where I have to start thinking about my fall show season that starts in a few months. So before you know it…I will be sharing a lot of Fall/Halloween stuff that I’ll be making to take to my shows.

I also got some wonderful news that I want to share with all of you, but I’ve been told that I can’t share it until in July. Nope, not telling….My lips are sealed. All I can say is that I can hardly wait….cause I’m about to burst with joy!!
But I will say that Chloe and I hope you all have a great weekend.
Until next time….. blessings, Cindy
This is some of what I’ve been working on. They are pillows just waiting for me to stuff them. There is a sixth one, but I’m keeping it a sursprise for the customer that ordered these…it has her business name on it. She knows she is getting it, but I’m saving it for her to see when her order arrives to her. She also got some stuffed sheep and framed samplers, which I’ll be sharing sometime this week. I still need to do some of the detailed work on them. I have 2 more samplers to embroider out on the machine and then that is all done. I had 18 items to do in all and almost all of them had over 30,000 stitches in them…which means many hours of machine time. I’m so looking forward to putting the finishes touches on each piece as that is the fun part….I just love seeing how each piece comes together at that point!!
I finally got my old Singer sewing machines up on the top of the cedar cupboard…and displayed more of my vintage spools of thread up there also. I just love how it turned out!! This next grouping I’m not done tweaking yet, but I wanted to show you the large vintage button and wood safety pin that I purchased.
The large button came from JoAnn Fabrics…it is part of their vintage sewing accent decor and the wood safety pin came from a local craft store. I’m thinking about painting the safety pin black or making it rusty as I use a lot of black and rusty safety pins on the items I make. Not sure it is even staying on the peg from this shelf…I still need to get the 5 ft. shelf with pegs painted and I might move it over to there. As big as the pin is…it might look better hanging from the larger shelf. I’ll have to keep you posted on that.
Nothing like a day in the life of a Yorkie!!
Gina from “Cat Nap Inn Primitives” had sent a goodie box to me!! It was a belated birthday gift or should I say gifts…Wow, did she ever spoil me!! I was watching Josie today and she helped me go through all the goodies in the box. She was so cute…she said “Grandma, this is like Christmas in the Summer and you must of been really good cause look at all you got.” LOL…
Gina sent me this wonderful book that I can’t wait to look at…I peeked inside and the farmhouses are wonderful, so I know I’ll be drooling all over the pages. Love the Welcome and Trick or Treat letters…they are going onto some wood for signs. The little notepad is already on my fridge just waiting for me to put some notes on it. And oh my goodness…she sent me some of her room spray that she has been making and it smells wonderful!! If you get a chance, go check them out…she sells these on her page at WSOAPP web-site….she gave me the Clothesline Fresh. I just love the little quilted pillow tuck heart that says “Have A Wonderful Day” I put it with another quilted heart that I got from Merrie (Where The Blackbirds Sing).
These are on a small shelf right outside our master bedroom…so they are the first thing that I see every morning when I leave the room to start my day. And they will remind me each day to have a wonderful day!
I can’t begin to tell you how excited I was when I pulled out the first rolling pin, but the excitement kept coming…not only did I get one rolling pin…but two, three, four, five, six, seven rolling pins!!!
Still more goodies in this box…she sent me some fabric. There is some Halloween, Christmas, and Winter prints. I can see a lot of these being used in some pillow tucks. How about a prim embroidered candy-cane with the tiny candy-cane fabric on the back of the pillow tuck.
I can already see one of these wood houses being painted red with a prim folk-art scene of a willow-tree and some little sheep….and the other one just might look great with a couple pillow tucks down in the box part of it. Well…that was the end of the goodies that just kept coming out of that big box…I must say again that Gina really spoiled me with all these items. She is one of the first ladies in blogland that I got to know…we share a passion for machine embroidery, sewing, and crafting. Gina is such a sweet, kind hearted, and caring soul…and she can make you laugh until you cry!! I feel so blessed that I got know her and to call her my friend.
A flower arrangement in a tin bucket.
Flag pillow tucks.
A machine embroidery prim sheep that I attached to a metal flag.
And a quilted fabric panel with rusty star buttons. If you get a chance, stop by Amy’s blog to see where she put all her patriotic goodies. She put this fabric panel into a frame and I just love how it looks in there.
