I had my ultra-sound on my gallbladder yesterday and I’m still waiting for my doctor to get the results back. They said that she should have them within 48 hours…so hopefully that means that I will know something about when my surgery will be by noon today. It’s looking like it will be early next week…and it can’t get here soon enough for me. I can’t eat without feeling sick, so I’m not able to eat very much… And I can’t sleep because I can’t get comfortable from the pain. Needless to say…it’s no fun!
Anyways, I’ve been trying to take it easy today…so I sat down in my work studio and went through some Halloween/Fall patterns to get ideas of some more goodies that I would like to make for my upcoming show season.
Patterns top to bottom….Top pattern by “Pineing For You Prim Collectibles” of pumpkin and acorns ornie- bowl fillers….Middle pattern by”Heart to Hand” of mini dolls that can be pins, necklaces or ornies….Bottom pattern by “The Quilted Rabbit” of mini’s that can be pins or ornies.
Top pattern by “Threads That Bind” of a pumpkin fellow holding 2 crows….Bottom pattern by “McCall’s Crafts” of pumpkin ornies and make-dos. I plan to start working on my fall goodies in a couple of weeks and hope to have some on my selling blog by the end of August.

Now on to some decorating pictures….
Thought I would share some pics of our master bedroom…it isn’t decorated primitive like the main living areas of our home, but is still decorated country style. It’s softer in the colors than what I’ve used in the rest of the house…but I recently started to add some darker colors with the softer ones and I really like the contrast.
This picture is of my nightstand….I just added the dark red candle and red checked trim around the lampshade last week. The plaque on the stand was a gift from my daughters for Mother’s Day a few years ago and it says “Mother is another word for Love”.
These bandboxes are also a recent addition to the room and they sit on one end of the dresser. It’s hard to tell from the photo, but the furniture in there is made of pine with a light green wash and the tops are the natural pine color.
This is my most favorite garage sale find ever….my quilt rack shelf!! I tried a regular size quilt, but it is too long and doesn’t look right hanging behind our rod iron bed. So, I’m going to use some shorter textiles grouped together and the one in the center is going to have some machine embroidery on it…which I will work on when I feel better. I shared more pics of it when I get it all done.
These next two pictures are of some goodies that are on a chippy white mirrored shelf that is hanging near the master bathroom. I just love my red checked plate with flowers…I got it at Hobby Lobby for $3.99 and it matches very well with the quilt on our bed. The quilt has the colors blue, green, tan and red with checks, ticking, and flowers in it and I have a very dark red dust ruffle. I didn’t take a picture of it because with not feeling that great…I didn’t make the bed up today.
I plan to repaint the tops of the birdhouses in a darker color…most likely navy.
I made the angel…she has cinnamon stick arms and legs. I made these in two sizes (this is the smaller size) and sold them at my shows a couple of years ago, but I just had to keep one for myself.
These appliqued pictures are hanging on the wall just outside of the master bathroom. One says “Home Sweet Home” and the other says “Bless Our Nest”. I got these on clearance at our local prim shop for $3.00 each and the colors go perfectly in the room.
This last picture holds some items that are very special to me…most of them belonged to my grandmother and I got a few as gifts from my girls to fill in the empty places. I’m not sure if I’ve ever mention it before, but my favorite little creatures on this earth is hummingbirds. It was a love that I shared with my grandma!!…I can remember staying with her and we would sit outside in her backyard and watch them for hours. I got some of these figurines before she passed away when she had to go to the nursing home…but the one with the hummer on top of the bell (middle right) and the music box one (lower left corner) were the two that she took to the nursing home with her. My mom gave them to me after my grandmother passed away and I will treasure these forever. I had to find something to hold all these figurines…so I took an old 80’s country shelf, painted it white and then aged it with some gel stain. I thought about covering up the heart on the top, but decided not to…because it reminds me of the love that my grandma and I had for hummingbirds and each other. Now, I know that hummingbirds are not something you usually see in a prim/primitive decorated home, but so far by having a country decor in the room with a touch of prim/primitive items…it is looking pretty good. The room just seems to have this comfy feel about it…my girls say it reminds them of a bedroom in a “Bed & Breakfast”.
Until next time…. prim blessings, Cindy
Rag balls for my wood tray that I redid and shared with you on my last post. I know I could of made these myself, but for .50 cents each I couldn’t pass them up. I might make a few more in black homespun and mustard homespun to add to these. I’ll share the other goodies that I got on an upcoming post.
The paint chips that are in the top center of the photo are the colors for the walls and cabinets. The tan/beige is the wall color…
the library red is for the cabinets and some of the black for aging them…
and I’m also using black for the range-hood. Also for the micro-wave cabinet, which is not in this photo…but it looks like a lot of little drawers, but it actually is two doors that open when you use the micro-wave. All the cabinet doors are off…so I’ll have to show it to you later. Remember I mention at the end of my last post that I wanted to get back to my kitchen redo over then weekend…well, that brings me to the title of my post…What a weekend I had and it’s not over yet!!
