~I’m Still Here and Can Finally Share My Wonderful News~

My missing from blogland for almost a week now has to do with my wonderful news. It sure has been a very stressful week and I did a lot of worrying. Why you ask?…

  Because my oldest daughter Kim is expecting…that is the wonderful news!! Yes, I’m going to be a grandma again and Josie is going to become a big sister!! Her due date is Feb. 7th of 2010. The stressful news is that she gave us quite a scare last week. She and the baby are just fine…but that did not stop the mother/grandma in me from worrying. I have been so stressed and am just now starting to calm down a bit, but I never let it show to the mommy-to-be.

Our SIL called early one morning last week to tell us that the squad had taken Kim to the hospital about 6am…that sure woke me up!! And before I could say anything else, he reassured me that mom and baby were both OK. She had been having a lot of morning sickness and just not feeling well at all. Anyways…she was in the shower that morning getting ready for work and got a pain so bad in her back/neck that she could not move. My SIL was not home at the time…he is a fireman and was on duty at the firehouse across town. She managed to call him, so he sent the squad near their home to go get her and he then met them at the ER. Luckily his parents live about 5 to 10 minutes from them, so that they could take care of Josie. (We live about 20 minutes away from them.) I felt so bad for Josie and how frighten she must of been to see her mommy in so much pain. 

While at the hospital they did pain meds, an x-ray and a MIR…trying to figure out what was causing Kim so much pain and not being able to move. So of course, I was worrying that they were doing all of this with her being pregnant…even though I knew they needed to know what was causing the problem. Poor girl threw up twice while she was at the hospital. She had no fractures or collapse disks…so they came to the decision that maybe with all the morning sickness she had been having, it made her back/neck go out of whack and that she needed to rest and take it easy for a few days. Josie was so cute on Friday. Kim was asleep on the sofa, all packed in with pillows and a quilt while Josie and I were in another room watching TV. Well, every so often she would go check on her mommy and report back to me…on about the 3th time, she came back and told me…”Mommy is sound asleep and she is snoring!!” So I told her that was a good thing and we would just let her mommy keep on snoring. LOL… I talked with Kim today as she did go back to work and is feeling better. The pain is almost gone and she has had some breaks with the morning sickness…no getting sick lately, but just feeling yucky.

  On a happier note… We are all very excited about this baby!! They had been trying to get pregnant for a while and was wondering if it was ever going to happen. It has been 9 years since there was a little baby in our family. When I called my MIL to tell her that she was going to be a great granny again…she said that I had made her day!!

And now for the winner of my giveaway from those of you that left me a comment on what you thought my wonderful news might be…First, I have to say that a couple of you said a new baby…yours or grandbaby…not sure that it would of been wonderful if it was me that was having a baby!! (LOL…) And for those of you that thought I might be in a craft magazine…how wonderful that would be and I do hope that one day that might just come true. I used to sell my own patterns in the quilt shop where I worked years ago and I would like to get back into designing patterns and machine embroidery designs. I did recently purchased a doodle pad for my computer…so stay tuned for more on that in the future.
