~Thrift Shop Redo, Some Reading, and a Raggedy Angel~

As you can see from the title of my post I’ve been doing some reading…

BloggingBook and this is the book that I’ve been reading “Blogging for Bliss”. I found this in the craft book section at B & N and it is a wonderful book if you like to blog or read blogs. There is a lot of  wonderful blogs listed, plus great info and tips on blogging inside the book….Have you read it?

Remember this very scary tray that I got at the GW a while back…

IMG_3160 I finally had some time today to redo it. I sanded it and sanded it….trying to remove the stars, but it sure was giving me a tough go at it!! So…after much thought and sore fingers from all that sanding, I decided to just work with it and this was how it turned out.

What do you think?…I love how it turned out!!

IMG_3305

It is sitting sitting on my old Singer sewing cabinet in the living room…next to my sugar buckets. Now, I just need to decided what to put in it. Any ideas?

Also did a little tweaking in my work studio today. A couple of weeks ago…I hung the plaid runner with stars on it, that I got from a swap, over one of doors of my cedar cupboard…but every time that I would open the door it would fall off. So…..I fixed that problem!!

IMG_3302 Went and got me a rod iron hook…placed it over the runner and hung my raggedy angel from it and now everything stays in place when I open and close the cupboard doors. This angel is very special to me…my friend Linda made it for me some years ago as a gift. She is holding double hearts…the one in her hands Linda made and the other heart, that is tucked above it, has a little Yorkie on it that I made from polymer clay and hand-painted.

YorkiePic OK…I know that it is no surprise to any of you that I love my Yorkie, but I was having some fun playing with the photo. (LOL…) I really took this picture so that you could see the actually Yorkie piece that I  made and hand-painted…it is only 1-1/2″ tall x 1″ wide.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!…do you have any plans? If things work out the way I have them planned…I will be back working on my kitchen redo this weekend.

Until next time…..      blessings, Cindy

    Hi Cindy,
Love the way that turned out.. what color did you use for the top coat? It’s very nice prim color! I think some old bobbins, an old pin cushion or yes.. rag balls, maybe some vintage button cards and old scissors. Love your little angel and yorkie too!

    Morning Cindy!

Love your make over of the tray….I’m always in awe of all the work you girls do on these things.
I have so many items in my basement I could do that to but just no time.
Everything looks so nice and prim that you have.

Hi Cindy. Thanks so much for your kind thoughts about our “move”. I know this will be well worth everything. It’s so hard to know that Mom is over there by herself and Dad is in that nursing home! I try to go see him almost every day. This will be an adventure and a time to look forward. Wish you could be here for our p.j. party on Friday night!!! It should be a blast. Have a great week and I’ll talk to you soon, Dawn
