~What A Weekend I Had And It’s Not Over Yet~

This past Friday started out as any other normal summer day with wonderful weather…so a friend and I decided to do some thrifting. Found a few things, but this was one of my favorite…

Rag Balls  Rag balls for my wood tray that I redid and shared with you on my last post. I know I could of made these myself, but for .50 cents each I couldn’t pass them up. I might make a few more in black homespun and mustard homespun to add to these. I’ll share the other goodies that I got on an upcoming post.

Friday evening was also normal…it is DH and mine’s date night of going out to eat and just spending the evening together. Sometimes after dinner we go to the movies or watch one at home…or we might go shopping…or play a game on the Wii…or just go for a walk, but we decided to stop by the home improvement stores to check out new counter-tops and a new sink for our kitchen. Wow!!…were there ever a lot of choices and kitchen eye candy to look at. How is a girl to decide!!

Kitchen Ideas 2 The paint chips that are in the top center of the photo are the colors for the walls and cabinets. The tan/beige is the wall color…

img_2266 the library red is for the cabinets and some of the black for aging them…

img_1239 and I’m also using black for the range-hood. Also for the micro-wave cabinet, which is not in this photo…but it looks like a lot of little drawers, but it actually is two doors that open when you use the micro-wave. All the cabinet doors are off…so I’ll have to show it to you later. Remember I mention at the end of my last post that I wanted to get back to my kitchen redo over then weekend…well, that brings me to the title of my post…What a weekend I had and it’s not over yet!!

Later in the evening on Friday, I started to not feel so well and thought that maybe after getting some sleep that I would feel better on Saturday. Let me just say that I was so wrong!! Got up on Saturday and as soon as I started to eat…I felt sick and was having some pain in my right upper abdomen. Lunch time came and the same thing happened…and at dinner time too. I couldn’t even sleep that night because of the pain. Sunday came and it was a repeat of Saturday, but by that time…I had a good idea of what I thought it was. ~*My Gallbladder*~  So, I never did get to work in the kitchen as I just felt too sick. Nothing like your kitchen with no cabinets doors on…and parts of it painted red and some still white!! LOL…

Gallbladder Disease runs on my mom’s side of the family. My youngest DD, Laura and I are the only two that have not had ours removed. My oldest DD, Kim had hers removed 2 months before her wedding years ago…thank goodness it wasn’t 2 months later that it decided to stop functioning! My doctor is thinking that I might have gall stones  and I go today for an ultra-sound. If it is…I will be having my gallbladder removed either on Friday or early next week. I’m actually hoping for early next week as Josie has her dance recital on Saturday…but I know that whatever the doctor says is the way it will have to be. I’ll keep you all posted.

Until next time…….      blessings, Cindy

Hi Cindy….I had my gallbladder removed four years ago this month….they did the surgery where you get three or four small incisions….they wanted to keep me there overnight but I hate being in the hospital SOOOO much that I talked them into letting me go home just a couple of hours after the surgery!….it’ll take a good couple of weeks before you feel good again but it’s definately worth it because that gallbladder pain can get quite severe!….good luck!

Hey Girl. So sorry to hear that you aren’t feeling well. I remember when I had my gall bladder and was experiencing pain from stones. They definitely didn’t mess around with me since I am a diabetic and scheduled my surgery right away. I just had mine removed on Dec 5th. My liver and gall bladder had kinda grown into one another so they had to end up cutting me wide open, but I hear that is rare and of course I had to be a lucky one (lol). The good thing is that they can do it laproscopic now which only involves a few small incisions. Keeping you in my prayers.

    Hugs,
    Lisa

Yikes. I am sorry to hear you are in so much pain. I hope you get feeling better soon, because gall bladder problems sound absolutely horrible.

I’ll bet your kitchen is going to be really beautiful when you are done. Please be sure to post lots of pictures. I can hardly wait to see it.
