~Did Some Tweaking & Rearranging~

I didn’t get any crafting done today, but I sure did do a lot of rearranging!! And I have to tell you…it was not rearranging of the furniture either. It was of all the clothes in my closet and dresser drawers…and was that ever a chore!!

I haven’t really mention it on my blog before, but I made a decision last November to get healthy and to take better care of myself…and I have lost 40 lbs. Along with eating better, Mr. D & I had been walking and lifting weights until I had my gallbladder attack and he had his heart cath. I am so looking forward to getting back to our workouts. Mr. D got word from the heart doctor this morning that he can start exercising again. I can go back to walking also, but can’t do any weight lifting for a couple of months…to make sure I get all healed from my gallbladder surgery. It turns out that Mr.D does not have to take any medicine for his heart… it is his lungs that are causing his heart not to pump down hard enough, because he is breathing too shallow…so he has breathing exercises to do and going back to our exercise program will also help. He has a follow up appointment in a few weeks to see if his lungs are working better.

So…back to my rearranging of the closet and drawers. I needed to take out everything that was too large…decide whether to pack it away or send it off to the GW. I realized that I really need to go shopping…I only have one pair of jeans that fit me. All my Fall and Winter clothes from last year are at least 2 sizes too big for me. I’m happy and sad all at the same time. Happy that I need new clothes, but sad that there really isn’t much in the closet that fits at all. It seems overwhelming when I think about everything that I need to buy.

So after I finished cleaning all of the closet and drawers out…I decided to do some tweaking in the hall bathroom. It all started with putting a candle in there that a friend brought over to me after my surgery.

She got me the block candle with the black star on it, bcause she thought that it would look good with the wood box with stars on it…that I picked up a few weeks ago to sit on the back of the potty to hold the tissue box. And she was right…it looks great and I love it in there.

So then…I thought that my towel rack looked a little too empty above the wood box. I found this basket that fits there perfectly, but I think that I might need to stain or paint it. What do you think? I also need one other item to hang from another peg…think I have to look around the house to see if there is something that I can put there.

Here’s another peek at this area in the bathroom…Bath Pic4

To the right is a pedestal sink…which we are going to be putting on a new facet and some antique looking tile behind the facet…between the sink and the mirror.

This is the grouping that is right inside the doorway and to the right of the sink. And the next photo is the cupboard top that is straight across on the wall from the sink and potty. This grouping also needs one more thing…as things look better grouped in odd numbers. Guess, I’ll have to look around the house for something to put there also…but it will have to wait, because I’m all tuckered out!!

Hope you enjoyed the peeking at my tweaking!!  Until next time….   blessings, Cindy

~Candle Mat Doilies Are Now Listed On My Selling Blog~

Basketmats

I spend most of yesterday in my sewing room working on getting these adorable candle mat doilies embroidered. I like how they turned out so much, that I made one for myself. (the pear basket) These are now listed on my selling blog if anyone is interested in them.

It’s back to sewing and crafting for me. My first show is October 4th and then my biggest show is the following weekend on the 10th & 11th…which is the Sauerkraut Festival, about 200,000 to 300,000 people attend. Plus, we are heading back to the hills of Tennessee in 3 weeks for a family reunion…so time is getting away from me to get all my goodies made for my 2 Fall shows.

See you all in a few days with more creations to share and a GW find that I picked up a couple of days ago.

Until then….      blessings, Cindy

~Fall Candle Mat and Jean Tote-Bag~

It feels so good to be back in my work studio creating goodies for my 2 upcoming Fall shows. On Monday, I went through tons of cloth patterns and picked out what ones I wanted to make…also went through paint patterns  and set aside the ones that I want to use for painting on my wood items. Then today, I spent a large part of the day on the computer… going through machine embroidery designs, getting the ones that I wanted to use put onto the flash drives that go into my embroidery machine. Wow…did that feel like it took forever, but now that it is done I can get to my favorite part… Creating all those prim goodies!!

This evening I did get to do a little machine embroidery. I came across 12 tea-dyed candle mats that were left over from another project that I did a few years ago and I knew as soon as I saw them that they would look great embroidered. What do you think?

Fall4  Looks good with a pumpkin ornie and a yummy fall candle…Pumpkin Spice/Apple Pie/Cinn. Vanilla. My youngest DD brought this wonderful smelling candle over to me when she came to visit me after my surgery. Now…I know it isn’t Fall yet, but I just had to burn it. My home smelled like I had been baking in the kitchen. Yummy!!

This also looks good just sitting on the table top with fall decor, plus it would look great hanging down the side of my old sewing drawer with little pillow tucks tucked into the drawer. I’ll have to take a picture of that after I get my fall pillow tucks out or after I get some made… And do I ever have lots of them to make! Can’t wait for you to see all the Fall designs!

JeanBag2 I’ve also been working on some jean tote-bags. There are 6 left from last year that I didn’t get done…so they will go to the Fall shows this year. The front of the tote-bag has four different patches of fall fabrics on it and the back has two fabric patches and a denim pocket from a pair of old jeans on it. I will be adding some decorative running stitches and buttons to them…and the denim jean pocket will have machine embroidery on them. I’ll share more photos as I get them finished.

I’ll be back soon with more Fall goodies for you to see. Until then……     blessings, Cindy
