I can finally show you the prim goodies that I’ve been working on that were surprise gifts for a couple of blogging friends.
The next 3 pics are of kitty items that I made for Gina from “Cat Nap Inn Primitives”. She is one of the first gals that I met when I first started blogging… and we quickly discovered that we had a lot in common as we shared a love for machine embroidery and crafting. We also shared our last names…my married name was her maiden name and Mr. D and Gina’s brother share the same full name. Even though we live across this great country from each other and have never met…we feel like kindred spirits or maybe kindred sisters!! She is one special lady and I feel so blessed to have her as my friend.
Here’s her goodies…
~Prim Cat Make-do~ He is made out of woolfelt…has wood button eyes and an old screw for his nose. The kitty in attached to an over-sized wood candlestick. I made this pattern myself and plan to make a bunny version as well.

~Prim Cat Pillow~ The pillow is made of red wool-felt with checked homespun on the back.
This next picture is what got me started on making her some surprise gifts.
~Prim Cat on a Rolling Pin~
Last year around my birthday, Gina sent me a box full of goodies and among those items were a bunch of rolling-pins. She knew that I was looking for some to paint on. These are not the really old rolling pins as I would never paint on an old rolling-pin. So…as a thank you, I decided to paint on one and send it back to her as a surprise. And of course, I just had to make her a few other goodies too. You can check out where she put all her prim kitties over at her blog…she posted about them today.

~Crow Tote Bag~
I made this tote-bag for my prim friend Cheryl for her birthday. She does not have a blog, but we met through my blog about a year ago when she left me a comment and I emailed her a reply. We discovered that we have a lot in common and feel as though we are kindred spirits. I feel bless to have gotten to know her and she is one of many blessings that I’ve received on my blogging journey. She emailed me after receiving her gift…to tell me that she was so excited when she saw a package from me in her mailbox and that she enter the house doing the happy dance. And I’m so happy that she loved her birthday surprise.
Tomorrow I will be back in my sewing room…finishing up the baby-girl items for my friend’s new grandbaby that is due any day now. The theme is butterflies, ladybugs, and flowers. Oh that makes me think of Spring!! I’ll be back soon to share these cute goodies with you. Until then…. blessings, Cindy
