~Gifts From Friends And Gifts I Made~

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends. I can’t believe how quickly this past year has gone by…and that we are just a few days away from welcoming in the New Year.  Over the next few days, I will be taking down my Christmas decorations and just leaving out a few snowmen for the winter.

Speaking of snowmen…I just have to share with you the snowman that Gina of “Cat Nap Inn Primitives” made for me.

He is so cute!!! I had him sitting in a chair, but moved him to the dining room table…where he is sitting beside my 3-tier display tray that has fabric cookies in it.

Gina also sent me several other goodies…

~a rusty bell ornie~

~a pantry cake~

I put the little pantry cake on the plate-stand that has my other faux food pieces on it. This sits on my kitchen counter.

She also gave me a scarf, some wonderful lotions, and a very yummy smelling candle. I hope I haven’t forgotten anything…she really spoiled me. (Thanks Gina, I love everything!!)

I sent Gina this set of kitties and some of my Christmas ornies for her tree.

I also made another set of these kitties for a friend of mine for her Christmas gift.

And this is what she gave to me….

~an old sifter~

~and a old cheese grater~

I love them on the shelf in the kitchen with my white pitchers…they look great up there. I got some money for Christmas and my sister got a gift card to one of our favorite thrift/antique shop’s. So, I can’t wait to go out junking with her to see if I can find a few more old pieces to put in the kitchen.

I hope you all have a Happy New Year. I have enjoyed visiting your blogs this past year. Thanks to all of you for stopping by to visit me and for taking the time to leave me such sweet comments.  Until next time…..       blessings, Cindy

~GW Finds, Gift From A Friend, and Christmas Kitties~

It sure has been a busy week here so far. I have finished up all of the Christmas gifts that I was making and got some more cookies baked. Now all I need to do is get all the gifts wrapped!!

On Monday, I went out to dinner to Crackle Barrel with a friend and my sister. After eating dinner…we headed over to the GW and I found a couple of goodies for myself.

Just look at this basket… and it was only $1.99.

I also picked up this silver pitcher…for $2.99. For now, it is on the shelf in the living room and I really like how it looks sitting with the white pitchers that I have.

On Tuesday…I took my granddaughter, Josie, out to lunch and then we did some shopping. It was a very fun girl’s day out. She even helped me pick out a new shirt to wear on Christmas Day. When I got home, there was a package waiting on the porch for me…it was from my friend, Cheryl. I met her through my blog when she left me a comment…she does not have a blog, so I commented back to her through email and we have been friends ever since. She lives here in my home state up north and I live in the southern part…I do hope that we get to meet one day.

Now to the package that she sent me…I was like a little kid and couldn’t wait to open it up. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love what she gave me…this gift really touched my heart and I will treasure it forever. Right now, this large white pitcher is sitting on the counter in the kitchen. I’m waiting until after the Christmas decorations are put away to figure out where I want to display it.

And look at what else she sent me… some snowman goodies!! A little prim snowman with a green plaid homespun scarf, a little red stocking with a tiny snowman & candy-canes…and a wood snowman ornament. I put them into the basket that I got from the GW to take a picture to share with all of you…and I really liked how they looked in it that I decided to leave them in there.

(Cheryl, thank you so much for the wonderful gifts…I love, love, love them!!!)

This will most likely be my last post until after Christmas…we will be spending Friday with Mr D’s family, Saturday with our 2 girls, our son-in-law, and the grandkids,…and Sunday with my family. So I’ll be signing off with a picture that my sister sent to me…I’m calling it “Christmas Kitties”. I love this photo…to me it looks like it should be on the front of a Christmas card.  So I did just that…made a Christmas card from me to all of you.

~My Sister’s Home At Christmas~

My sister sent me some pictures of her Christmas decor and I just had to share it with all of you. For those that may not know…this past year, my sister and her husband purchased their first home. The main part of the house was built in 1861 and over the years additions were added to it. The original part of the home is now the living room and that it where she set up the Christmas tree.

The tree at night-time.

Here is another picture of the tree during the daytime. One of her kitties is checking out all the new decorations…

She seems to like the primitive dolls. My sister calls these two little dolls “the twins”, because she purchased one at a craft show and the next year for Christmas I purchased her the exact same one…not knowing that she had gotten one the year before.

Remember all those ornies that I made for my Christmas craft show that didn’t sale? My sister purchased some for herself and for her daughter-in-laws for Christmas. Here is how she displayed her’s…They are in an old wood bowl with a few pieces of evergreen branches and a tiny candle in a small mason jar…too cute!!  Mine is in my black 3 tier display piece on my dining room table. I’ll try to remember to take a picture to show on my next post.

I finished up most of my Christmas shopping today and plan to spend tomorrow finishing up some items that I making as gifts for family and friends. I’ll take some pictures of those things too, but I can’t show them until after Christmas because I’m not sure if any of them read my blog.

Until next time…..       blessings, Cindy
