~Another Show Season Has Come and Gone~

It’s hard to believe that after all the months of crafting like crazy that another show season has come and gone…and I happy to say that my last show of the year was great.

Here are some pics of what the booth looked like on Friday morning when the show started.

The window display…

The mixed media/junk style jewelry display…

The wall display with some of the prim collectibles…

The rest of the prim things were on the 5 tier shelf unit in the front of the booth and by the end of the show…there was only a few things left on 2 of the shelves. So there was not much left in the booth to pack up at the end of the show. Sold all of the mice in the Santa hats…sold all but 2 of the Christmas tree mice…sold all the snowmen but 2 of them…and sold out of the prim towels. Everyone loved the new jewelry that I made this year and several pieces sold.  My sales were the highest that I’ve had in about 6 years. It was such a nice surprise to end the show season this way.

I’ll share what I purchased at the show in my next post. I wanted to take some pictures this morning of some of my favorite booths, but didn’t have time because we were almost late for the show. Our youngest daughter called us while we were on our way to the show and she was on her way to work…she had a flat tire. So we turned around to go help her…I took her on to work, while hubby put the little spare tire on to get her car back home. After dropping her off, I came back home to pick up hubby…then we picked up my sister, so she could go to the show with us. We were almost to the show…like a few minutes away and we saw a lady make a turn in her car…right into coming traffic. Luckily…no one was seriously injured and we finally made it to the show with a few minutes to spare before they opened the doors to the public.

Until next time…….         blessings, Cindy

~The Sugar Buckets Have Found A New Home~

Spent yesterday cleaning the house…getting ready for Thanksgiving day with my family. My granddaughter is going over to spend the night and will be helping me make the pumpkin pies. I’m sure there will be a lot more going on in the kitchen besides making pies…like lots of giggles and laughter!! Josie and I have made many wonderful memories together while in my kitchen.

When cleaning…I found new places to put my sugar buckets/firkins. Couldn’t keep them in one tall stack anymore…had to do 3 smaller stacks instead.

The 2 largest sugar buckets…I put on the bottom of the round stand that is right inside the front door. The bucket on the bottom is very old…it was my mother-in-laws and she surprised me a couple of years ago when she gave it to me as my Christmas gift. It is hard to see in this photo, but the one on top of my old one…is brown with a green wash over it. I’ve only had it for a few weeks…found it at one of our prim shops during a holiday open house sale.

The rest of the sugar buckets/firkins come from a prim/antique shop that is in an old barn. I put them on top of the bookshelves of our entertainment center. I put 2 of them on the top left side with the prim angel from the primitive show, some old wooden sewing spools, and the old antique wood bandboxes…they were also a gift from my mother-in-law many years ago.

I put 4 of them on the top right side bookshelf…with some more of my old sewing spool collection and the large wood goose that my hubby surprised me with about 20 years ago. I had been out running errands and when I got home…this beauty was sitting in the middle of my dining room table. I cried and did the happy dance all at the same time!!

I have one very large sugar bucket that I got from an antique shop for $14.00 because it was missing the lid and I have another smaller one that does have a lid, but the lid has a knob on it. So the large one just sits on the floor and the smaller one is sitting on a shelf by itself, since another one can’t stack on top of it. Hope to keep adding to my collection…not sure why, but I just love sugar buckets/firkins.

I’m not sure if I’ll be back on here before my show starts on Friday…so I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I’ll try to get lots of pics of the show to share if I can. Until next time…….         blessings, Cindy

~All Ready For My Christmas Show~

I’m all ready for my Christmas show…spent most of yesterday cleaning up my crafting mess that was on one end of our dining room table. Thanksgiving will be at our home this year…so still lots of cleaning and cooking to do…and baby proofing going on here.

Now that I’m all done crafting…our little grandson can go into the dining room. Our living room and dining room are open to each other, but when I’m working in there…it isn’t safe for him to be in that room around my crafting stuff, so we block that area off. Now that this area is not blocked off anymore, I need to move one very important thing out of the dining room…

…my sugar bucket collection.

I have my stack of sugar buckets sitting on a little chair in my dining room…did this to keep that cute little doggie of mine from chewing on them. And now I need to move them to keep my cute little grandson from knocking them over. He loves to sit on a little foot stool that I have and I’m pretty sure that he is going to want to sit on this little chair too. So tomorrow’s chore is to move my sugar bucket collection up high…either onto the mantel of the fireplace or the top of the book shelves in the living room. Guess I’ll have to see which place I like the best.

On Saturday…I went to a craft show with my hubby and my sister.  The show was ok, but a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be. There were a few prim/primitive booths…my sister got a prim doll, and snowman box for outside by her front door, and a wood sheep. I also couldn’t pass up this cute prim sheep…

When I purchased it…I thought that I would put the sheep on my front door come Spring, but I found the perfect place for it in my dining room…so that is where it is staying for now. Cost me only $8.00 and this sheep is a large piece.

I received some sad news this week…I have a very close blogging friend named Cheryl and her mother passed away. I know that she reads several of your blogs and some of you have met her at some primitive shows…please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she goes through this difficult time.

Until next time…….         blessings, Cindy
