~Where did Winter go to?…~

It was 60 degrees here today…where did Winter go to?

I kind of miss this white stuff…but we won’t be getting snow anytime soon. It is going to be around 50 degrees for the next several days.

I finally gave up and put all my snowmen away. I thought for sure when I did that…that we would get some snow, but no such luck.

Well…….since it feels like Spring here…I decided to put out my spring salt-dough cookie ornies that Gina from “Cat Nap Inn Primitives” gave me last year.  They are in a 3 tier wooden display that sits in the middle of the dining room table.

Here is a couple of close-up pics of them…so that you can see how real they look. Reminds me of snicker-doodle cookies that have the cinnamon on them.

Oh so cute…there are bunnies, sheep, butterflies, and flowers.

The first time my granddaughter saw them…she thought they were real. Hmmm…guess this grandma needs to be making some cookies that she can eat.

Until next time…….         blessings, Cindy

~Keeping Busy~

It’s been awhile since my last post…not really much prim stuff going on around here, but I’ve been keeping busy.

Little Miss Zoey is taking up a lot of my time…

You know…..with the important stuff…like puppy kisses and long doggie naps in the recliner.

And I’ve been spending some time with the grandkids….

I picked Josie up one day after school…so that we could have a girls day together. We fixed us up some snacks, played a game, and then watch a movie. This photo was taken at my parent’s home on New Year’s Eve…so hard to believe that she is in 6th grade and will be 12 years old this coming May.

I’m going with her and my daughter tomorrow to check out an open house at the christian school that she will attending next year. Josie is very excited as she had been wanting to go to this school. I’ve heard wonderful things about the school and I can’t wait to take the tour with them.

Also tomorrow…we are doing a little shopping to finish up getting some things for someone’s “Toy Story” birthday party. Peyton will be 2 years old next Sunday, but his party will be on the 11th…because his daddy has to work at the firehouse on his actually birthday.

I’m making him a “Toy Story” cake and some alien cupcakes. Found the directions for making the cupcakes at the Disney website…they are just too cute.  Give you a little hint on the cake…one layer is for Woody and one layer is for Buzz. I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures to share.

Until next time…….         blessings, Cindy

~Little Helper and Some Decorating~

Things are finally getting back to normal for me after having my biopsy…so Mr. D and I went out yesterday to Moochie & Co. and got Zoey a collar with her name on it…also got both doggies new balls to play with…and they got a free treat to share. It felt so good to get out and about…I was getting stir crazy.

I also cooked dinner for the first time in over a week and a half and I was glad to be back in the kitchen. While cleaning up after we ate…I turned around to see that I had a little helper with putting things in the dishwasher. “Really mommy…..I was just trying to help you!!
I also did some redecorating today…finally was able to put up my new peg-rack that I got from “The Country Gentlemen”…..it is hanging in the dining room.
I also put out the little cubby box that Mr. D got me for Christmas…it is now sitting on top of the old jeweler’s cupboard, which is between the living room and the dining room. I love how it looks there…
While I was tweaking that area…I added a crock and a jug to the ironing-board gathering…
It felt so good to be doing a little decorating and tweaking…..and I hope to be doing some sewing and crafting this coming week. Well….I’m off to get some rest before the storms and winds get here. Heard we could have wind gust over 50 mph…I so hope we don’t lose any tree branches or trees…or our electricity.
Until next time…….         blessings, Cindy
