~Went to my First Flea Market of this Year~

Mr D. and I headed out on Saturday to our first flea market of this year. It was held indoors at a huge expo center. I didn’t find too much there…got some glass beads and a couple of pendants for my interchangeable necklace.

On our way back home…we stopped by a little flea market that is very close to home. It is not usually open in February, but with this Spring like weather that we’ve been having…they opened it a month early and I did find some great goodies there.

I got this huge heavy wood band box…handmade in the late 80′s for $5.00. I’m going to paint it, but I’m not sure what color yet. I put my little tin kitchen items on top of it to hide the scary duck that was stenciled on the top of the lid…now you know why I’m painting it.

I also got 4 old tin cookie cutters for $1.00 each…to add to my collection of them that I have in a large mason jar. Sorry, but I forgot to take a picture of them before I put them in the jar.

Also picked up 6 silver spoons for .20 cents each…I want to make some of these hearts that were in Create & Decorate magazine. Not sure yet what designs I will put on the hearts, but I don’t think it will be the ones in this picture. Well…maybe the bird.

My last goodie that I”m sharing is from my day out junking with a friend one day last week. Got this wood masher for $3.00. Not sure that it is old…the wood looks too light. I’m going to rub a little gel stain on it and then sit it will the other 2 masher that I have. Guess I have a collection…because I now have 3 of them. LOL…

Just wanted to share with you that latest photo that I took of little Zoey. She has gotten a little bigger…weighed 2 lbs 4 oz when we got her and she now weighs 4 lbs. And I’m so thrilled to say…She is a bow wearer!!

Zoey went with us to the Flea Markets…we wanted to get her out for some socializing among people. Needless to say, everyone loved her!!

I felt bad for Chloe, but we left her at home.

She is having problems with her trachea collapsing and it gets worse when she gets real excited. She is on medicine for it and is doing somewhat better. We are hoping that Chloe can go with us on our next outing.

Until next time…….         blessings, Cindy

~My Giveaway Win From Angela~

I was so excited today when the mail came…I received my giveaway win from Angela of “Thru Nana’s Window”. She had visited a shop while in SC and had purchased herself a waxed bag luminarie…and many of us commented on how much we loved it. So she went back to the shop and purchased another one for her giveaway.

Oh my…I love the photo she showed on her blog of this luminarie, but it is even better when you see it in person. Guess where I put?…..

Yep…in my treenware bowl on the dining room table.

Love how it looks at night-time with just the glow of the candle lite.

Angela also sent me a little wooden spool, a prim waxed sheep and a pretty card. Love the picture on the card and I’m going to frame it.

I put the spool on top of the little cubby box that is on the old jeweler’s cupboard. I just love this little spool…it has a piece of fabric pinned around it and has this saying on it ”Smile…It is the key that fits the lock of everybody’s heart.” I know I will smiling every time I look at it.

I put the wax sheep in the wood bowl with my fabric pears. Thought it would look good with my other sheep, but he isn’t showing up very well there…so I need to find a new place for it.

Angela…thank you so much for all these wonderful goodies!! I love everything!!

Thought I would share with you what little Zoey was doing while I was decorating with all my new goodies. That little stinker stole the blanket off the back of the sofa and was running away with it!!

Please don’t pay any attention to the bump in the carpet. We are in the process of taking up all the carpet in the dining room and living room. We have part of the dining done and are working our way into the living room. I’m happy to say that so far the hardwood floor under the carpet is in really good condition.

Have a great weekend everyone. I’m heading to a huge flea market tomorrow with my hubby. Until next time…….         blessings, Cindy

~Goodies From Prim Shopping Trip With Blogging Friends~

Finally got the photos taken of the goodies I purchased from the prim shopping trip this past Saturday. At our first stop, which was Primitive Blessings…I found a few treasures.

A wonderful prim angel…it looks like her wings are made out of the back slats from a child’s chair.

I also got this old white chippy wood box.

Trying to decide if I want to display it laying down with something in it…or stand it up…or maybe hang it on the wall.  What do you think?

We all got a free gift from the shop owner, Pam…3 little birds nest with eggs.

I put the eggs in 2 of the nest and added a little bird I had to the other nest. This tree is sitting on top of our corner fireplace.

Our next stop was North Shore Primitives…and I purchased the cutest little fabric mouse on a biscuit.

I put this mouse in a small rusty tin pan and nestled him in a gathering with a couple of other mice on my wood trencher.

The last prim shop we went to was The Olde Farmstead…and that is where I found the treasure of the day.

A reproduction Treenware bowl for my dining room table.

My mother-in-law had given each of us money for Christmas and I had been saving it to spend on something special. And when I saw this…I knew it was that ”something special”!!  I just love how it looks on the dining room table.

I’m going to have so much fun putting gatherings in that bowl for the all the different seasons and holidays. So I’m sure you will be seeing lots more of this Treenware bowl in the future.

Until next time…….         blessings, Cindy
