A wonderful prim angel…it looks like her wings are made out of the back slats from a child’s chair.

I also got this old white chippy wood box.

Trying to decide if I want to display it laying down with something in it…or stand it up…or maybe hang it on the wall.  What do you think?

We all got a free gift from the shop owner, Pam…3 little birds nest with eggs.

I put the eggs in 2 of the nest and added a little bird I had to the other nest. This tree is sitting on top of our corner fireplace.

Our next stop was North Shore Primitives…and I purchased the cutest little fabric mouse on a biscuit.

I put this mouse in a small rusty tin pan and nestled him in a gathering with a couple of other mice on my wood trencher.

The last prim shop we went to was The Olde Farmstead…and that is where I found the treasure of the day.

A reproduction Treenware bowl for my dining room table.

My mother-in-law had given each of us money for Christmas and I had been saving it to spend on something special. And when I saw this…I knew it was that ”something special”!!  I just love how it looks on the dining room table.

I’m going to have so much fun putting gatherings in that bowl for the all the different seasons and holidays. So I’m sure you will be seeing lots more of this Treenware bowl in the future.

What a wonderful shop!! I can see why Carmen loves it so much…not only a beautiful shop inside, but the grounds outside and the creek were so was pretty too.

After leaving Primitive Blessings…we stopped at Bob Evans for lunch. While there we realized that my sister and I had worn green shirts…and that Carmen and Earlene had worn orange shirts, but it gets better. The booth we were setting at had a green and orange print on it. What are the odds of that happening? LOL…

After lunch, we headed to North Shore Primitives in Washington Court House.

Then from there we went to The Olde Farmstead at Tango Outlets in Jeffersonville.

After that…it was time to say our goodbyes and we headed home. We had so much fun and it felt like we had all known each other forever. I can’t wait to do it again!!

I did a painting on a wood plate…..

Embroidered a crow on a prim beige/tan colored towel and added a reproduction colonial print fabric ruffle…..

And I purchased a cute little prim sheep from one of our local shops…and added the tiny bell to his neck…..

A lot of you know the birthday girl, but she doesn’t have a blog…and I’ve been trying to get her to start one. Happy Birthday, Cheryl!!! So glad that you loved everything.

I had a great time today on the prim shopping trip with Carmen, Earlene, and my sister…turned out that Mary couldn’t come. Will share about our day on my next post.

I’ve heard that my mom Vicki and Aunt Cindy are going shopping this weekend with some prim friends…and that mom is excited because she might find some new goodies to put in it. With all this shelf space…don’t you think she could save one of them for just me.

Well…I have 3 other cat sister’s and a cat brother, so maybe mom shouldn’t go putting any of that cute prim stuff on the shelves at all.

Oh…Aunt Cindy said to make sure to show you the pretty crackled paint and the leaf design on the bottom doors.

But the shelves are still my favorite…great for displaying 5 cats on!!!!!

I thought today would be a good time to show you some of the hearts that I have in my home. The mailbox and Valentine’s were a gift from Gina of “Cat Nap Inn Primitives”.

~Old white bear holding a tiny fabric heart.~ This little bear was given to my youngest daughter when she was born…and she is now 25 years old. She decided many years ago that she had out grown the bear…so glad that she gave him to me. I hoping that maybe she will want him back one day.

~Quilted heart pillows.~ These were gifts from Merrie of “Where the Blackbirds Sing” and Gina of “Cat Nap Inn Primitives”. They are sitting on a little shelf in the hallway.

I also received a surprise Valentine card in the mail from Angie of “Just A Lil Raggedy”…thank you, sweet friend, for brigthening my day!!

My little grandson, Peyton, turned 2 years old last Sunday…but they waited to have his party this weekend since his daddy had to work last weekend. And I was busy this last week getting what I needed to make his cake and cupcakes…then spent all day on Friday baking and decorating.

He was so excited when we showed him his cake…or as he would say…his Woody and Buzz cake. I was so happy with how it turned out. My daughter said that she thought it was the best cake I’ve ever done…well, that made me smile.

Peyton also loved the alien cupcakes that I made with lots of help from my granddaughter, Josie. I showed her how to decorate the first one and she decorated all the rest of them by herself. I think big sister did an awesome job on them.

He loved the “Toy Story” toy/decorations that his mommy got for the table too…and after the party, he got to play with them.

Here is a picture of the table after we got it all decorated. I just love the banner the my daughter made with all the “Toy Story” characters on it. Sorry it is hard to see…the sun was shining so bright through the window that was hard to get a good picture.

They had “Toy Story 3″ playing on their big screen tv and had popcorn in boxes just like theater has for all the kids…well, for us big kids too. Peyton had a great time at his birthday party with 26 of his family and friends…and Woody. Well…and Buzz too, but he got him this past Christmas.

We were so glad that everyone came…we got a few inches of snow over-night and was worried about the ones that live over an hour away that had to travel down in the weather. Winter finally got here…I’m not surprised that we had snow on the day of Peyton’s birthday party, since we had snow last year on his birthday and we had a big snowstorm 2 years ago on the day he was born.

Who me?….is she talking about cute little me. What did I do?…

Well…see the pip berry wreath that is hanging on the towel rack. Bella has decided it is her new favorite thing to chew on…so I had to take it down so she wouldn’t destroy it.

I really didn’t want to put it away…so I went walking around the living room and dining room to see if I could find a place for it…and I realized that the basket beside the old ironing board was the perfect spot for it. Well that is…until she discovers the wreath is there. Which could be a while, because the cats don’t come downstairs too often…they don’t like being around the dogs.

Got a busy week coming up…need to do a little embroidery for my mom and I have some gifts that I need to finish up. Then on Friday, I will be making Peyton’s “Toy Story” cake for his birthday party on Saturday.

Well, since I made those grubby candles…I’ve been wanting some lighter prim candles too. Thinking that I could switch them out for the different seasons, but when looking at the prim shops…I could only find the darker ones.

So I decided to make my own. Took a trip to the craft store and picked up some white battery operated candles.

Then I took my walnut gel stain and primed them up….

I love how they turned out. My mom liked them so much that I made some for her too. Did 2 for me and 4 for her and saved us a lot of money. I only paid around $2.00 each for the candles and our local prim shop sells them for $6.00 to $8.00 each.

I did mine in white, but they have other colors too….tan, gold, burgundy, and green and it was very easy to make them prim.

I kind of miss this white stuff…but we won’t be getting snow anytime soon. It is going to be around 50 degrees for the next several days.

I finally gave up and put all my snowmen away. I thought for sure when I did that…that we would get some snow, but no such luck.

Well…….since it feels like Spring here…I decided to put out my spring salt-dough cookie ornies that Gina from “Cat Nap Inn Primitives” gave me last year.  They are in a 3 tier wooden display that sits in the middle of the dining room table.

Here is a couple of close-up pics of them…so that you can see how real they look. Reminds me of snicker-doodle cookies that have the cinnamon on them.

Oh so cute…there are bunnies, sheep, butterflies, and flowers.

The first time my granddaughter saw them…she thought they were real. Hmmm…guess this grandma needs to be making some cookies that she can eat.

Little Miss Zoey is taking up a lot of my time…

You know…..with the important stuff…like puppy kisses and long doggie naps in the recliner.

And I’ve been spending some time with the grandkids….

I picked Josie up one day after school…so that we could have a girls day together. We fixed us up some snacks, played a game, and then watch a movie. This photo was taken at my parent’s home on New Year’s Eve…so hard to believe that she is in 6th grade and will be 12 years old this coming May.

I’m going with her and my daughter tomorrow to check out an open house at the christian school that she will attending next year. Josie is very excited as she had been wanting to go to this school. I’ve heard wonderful things about the school and I can’t wait to take the tour with them.

Also tomorrow…we are doing a little shopping to finish up getting some things for someone’s “Toy Story” birthday party. Peyton will be 2 years old next Sunday, but his party will be on the 11th…because his daddy has to work at the firehouse on his actually birthday.

I’m making him a “Toy Story” cake and some alien cupcakes. Found the directions for making the cupcakes at the Disney website…they are just too cute.  Give you a little hint on the cake…one layer is for Woody and one layer is for Buzz. I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures to share.
