~Someone Special had her Birthday~

My granddaughter turned 12 this past Friday and had a ~Hot Pink and Zebra Print~ themed party with her girl friends. My youngest daughter (aunt to the birthday girl) made her party invitations…they had zebra print flowers on them with hot pink lettering. Wish I would have thought to take a picture of them. My oldest daughter (mom to the birthday girl) did a wonderful job on decorating their dining room…

There were Zebra print plates to put pizza on…and even Zebra print on the water bottles. It is actually Zebra print duck tape that is just wrapped around the bottles.

She also purchased a couple of Zebra print plates to hold the ~Pink Zebra Peanut Butter Blossom~ cookies that I made.

There were Zebra print napkins, balloons, and even a Happy Birthday Zebra print banner that my daughter made.

And of course…the Zebra print and hot pink cake that I made.

I’m happy to say that Josie loved her cake…and her birthday party. I still can’t believe that she is 12 years old already….how fast those years have gone by.

All the girls had a really fun time…and I had fun watching them do their dance tournament. Oh…to be that young and have all that energy!!

Until next time…….         blessings, Cindy

~Pretty Flowers and More~

Wow…it has been awhile since I’ve posted to my blog. There was just a lot going on here…more visits to the doctor’s with my youngest daughter and going to volleyball games to watch my granddaughter play. Plus taking care of Zoey…we had her spayed and they told us to keep her from jumping for a week…that was full-time job, because she is a jumper!!

I wanted to post last night, but we had some very strong thunderstorms. I had the candles lite up…

just in case the lights went out…

The cute little card was a nice surprise in the mail from Linda of “Parker’s Paradise”. (Thanks Linda…it was so wonderful to get to meet you too.)

I’ve been going outback with the doggies…to keep an eye on little Miss Zoey. We have some areas in our fence that we are worried she might be able to get out of, because she is so tiny. We’ve decided that a new fence of solid wood is in our near future. Can’t have our sweet little puppy getting out and getting lost. While being  outside with them…I was enjoying some of the pretty flowers and flowering bushes.

I brought a start of this home from Tennessee many years ago from Mr. D’s aunt. Love the deep blueish purple color of this Clematis Vine.

And this white floral bush is the fullest that I’ve ever since it in the 18 years that we have lived here.

I haven’t had much time to do any crafting here lately, but I was able to fix up a washboard for a friend of mine. It had 2 hooks on it for tea cups to hang from…so I removed those for her, filled the holes and had to paint those areas to match the existing color of the washboard. I was very happy with the end result. I think she said it is going to go in her kitchen/dining room area.

Well…that’s about all for now. I will be back in a few days to share pictures of my granddaughter’s birthday cake that I’m making. All I’m saying is….Zebra print and hot pink and I’m even making cookies in those colors too! Should be a fun party…16 girls and they are having a dance-off. Hmmmm…wonder if my oldest daughter and I will be sane by the end of the party. LOL… Hard to believe that Josie is turning 12 already…seems just like yesterday that I was at the hospital holding her for the very first time.

Until next time…….         blessings, Cindy

~Tweaking, Apples, Tarts, and Puppy Love~

What a great sister I have…she came over to help me with some tweaking. I had some new things that I wanted to display, but couldn’t do by myself because…by doctor’s orders, I’m not suppose to be lifting anything heavy or reaching for things above my head. All I can say…having back problems is no fun!!

So with my sister’s help…I finally got my white box from Primitives Blessings put up on top of the bookcase in the living room.

And my sister moved the white tray that was up on the bookshelf to the top of fridge in the kitchen. She even got rid of all the dust bunnies for me. Thinking I should take her out to lunch for helping me and then a visit to the thrift shop.

I’ve been busy with some embroidery jobs…put a logo on 10 shirts for a local jewelry store and then had a custom order for a bride-to-be that was doing her kitchen in a country apple theme.  I embroidered an old fashion apple label design on a kitchen towel and also put the apple label on a wood box that I picked up at the Goodwill. The box was unfinished when I got it, so I put a paint/stain wash on it…and I love how it turned out.

I got some yummy warming tarts from Sheila, but I couldn’t bring myself to melt them…they look like cookies to me. So I put them on the little plate stand that I made in my kitchen and I think they look great with my other faux food goodies.

Well…I’m off to get ready to go to the hair salon to get my hair cut, but before I go…I have to share this picture of little Miss Zoey. Hubby took this photo when I got out of the car to go into the store to pick a few things. Thinking she was wondering where her mommy was going without her.

Update on my daughter and her hives…

Happy to say that the hives are finally gone, but not before she had to go back to see the doctor. She got really bad on Monday and we were able to get her into our family doctor. He put her on some stronger medicine and it has really helped. She will be going to see an allergist soon to see if they can figure out what caused this. She has had problems with this in the past…they checked her when she was around 7 years old and said that she had general allergies, because they couldn’t pin point anything. Well…here we are now and she is 25…and so far, no one has been able to figure out what causes her to get hives. Her last bad case of them was a couple of years ago. I know that it can be hard to figure what is causing someone to get hives…but it is very scary when your child has hives head-to-toe and you now have to keep a EpiPen on hand incase the hives get so bad that she can’t breath and you have to give her this shot to save her life. I’m hoping that maybe this time…this new allergist she is going to can figure out what might be triggering the hives.

Until next time…….         blessings, Cindy
