I hope everyone had a great weekend. We spent our’s working in the kitchen and slowly…but surely, we are making progress. Yesterday, we got the top 3 cabinets up in our new buffet area. There will be crown molding up along the top of these cabinets…and faux copper panels between the upper and lower cabinets. I was hoping to get the faux copper panels up, but we decided that it needs to go in after the countertops are put in.
I can’t get over how much this new paint color and the lighter cabinets brighten up my kitchen. It was always so dark in the kitchen with those walnut cabinets and having only one small window. The new kitchen will be such a lighter…brighter…happy place to be.
Wish we would stop finding surprises…like more electrical issues that need to be fixed and a part of the soffit above the sink that never got textured…until now. It is hard to see in this photo, but Mr D did a great job on matching it with the pattern on the ceiling.
We also took a little time off from working in the kitchen…to spend some time with our grandkids on the 4th of July.
Not only did we spend time with Josie and Peyton…
…but we spent some time with Woody and Buzz too.
I also went out with my sister to a couple of thrift shops on Friday and to a lamp shop. When the tree fell on her house in that bad storm here last week…it caused a power surge and it blew out the light fixture in their bathroom. The tree was finally being removed yesterday and today. Well…I did find a few goodies at one of the thrift shops and will share them on my next post.
Until then……. blessings, Cindy
