~Country Whites at Christmas~

I’m joining Dru from “The Country Farm Home” and Cindy from “Olde Time Farmhouse” for “Country Whites Weekend”.

For the first “Country Whites Weekend”…I’ve decided to share my country whites decorated for Christmas time.

It looks like Christmas here today. We got some snow over night and it is still lightly snowing, but it is very windy and bitter cold outside. Glad I’m inside listening to Christmas music and enjoying the beautiful view out my front window.

As many of you know…I have changed my decor to a more simple and plain country farmhouse style.

Many years ago, my hubby made a tavern shelf for me…it has several of my ever-growing white pitcher collection on it.

And at Christmas time…

…I just add some simple greenery with berries to the shelves.

I also added some Christmas ornaments to my country whites near the front door…where the little Yorkie statue greets all who enters our home this holiday season.

Hope you’ll go check out everyone’s “Country Whites” this weekend. You can get to Dru’s blog  from “The Country Farm Home” and Cindy’s blog from “Olde Time Farmhouse”…from my blogroll on my sidebar.

~Making More Baby Gifts~

I’ve been busy embroidering more baby gifts…

My cousin’s daughter had a baby boy and I made this cute blanket with his name on it.

And my niece’s best friend had a baby boy and she ask me to make some gifts that she could give to her friend. Her friend loves elephants and polka dots…so I made a bib, a burp cloth, and blanket with his name on it. Of course…with elephants and polka dots!!

Speaking of little boys…I spent some time this past weekend with my grandson .

And as he was leaving with his mommy, he stopped to pick something that was near the sidewalk and came running back to the front door with this…..

Never dreamed that there would be a dandelion in bloom in December, but I was so glad that there was…because this grandma will treasure this memory forever.

Until next time…….         blessings, Cindy

~Vintage Christmas Finds~

This past Saturday…I went on a road trip with my hubby to one of my favorite shops.

~Primitive Blessings Vintage Gift Shop~

The shop was so pretty all decorated for Christmas. I did find a few goodies that just had to come home with me.

~Two little mercury glass birds~ These will be staying out year round…love them.

~Vintage candy cane~ I put the candy cane with this little bear that was given to me when my youngest was born…and a vintage snowflake ornament that I made.

~Vintage stocking with little snow-angel~ The shop owner made these and I thought they were so cute together.

I hung it from the knob of my old sewing box that is on top of the fireplace.

Oh….I just realized that I forget to take a picture of the vintage cookie cutters that I also purchased there. I have a very large mason jar in my kitchen that I have my cookie cutter collection in. Will have to remember to take a picture of it to show you when I share my new kitchen with you. Soon…I promise!! It has to be done by Christmas…but we hope to have it finished this weekend.

May the joy of this season…Be a joy that stays with you always. Until next time…….        blessings, Cindy

~All Through the House…~

All through the house…not a creature is stirring…except for the mice!!

No, not real mice…just the cute ones that came out for Christmas to hang out on my side-board table that my hubby built for me many years ago. Last year, I had a peppermint/candy-cane theme and decided to do a mouse theme this year.

~Mouse on a Sled~…made by my good friend, Linda.

~Mouse on White Ironstone Saucer~…made by my good blogging friend, Cheryl.

~Caroler Mouse~…I purchase this cute little mouse at my Christmas show this year. Her dress fabric is a sheet of music… she has on her fuzzy scarf and ear muffs…and is singing “Joy to the World”. I love her glasses at the end of her nose…too cute!

~Peppermint Candy Mouse~…was a gift from my sister, Vicki. He is standing on top of a giant peppermint and since I took this photo…I’ve added a large candy-cane for him to hold too.

We have been working on getting all the little touches done in the new kitchen. Everything needs to be done by Christmas…we are having my family here for Christmas dinner. So that means…I’ll have pictures to share soon. Plus I’ll have more Christmas decorating pics to share in a couple of days.

A Christmas filled with simple pleasures can be the greatest blessing of all. Until next time…….         Cindy

~Dreaming of a White Christmas Tree~

I’m so thrilled with how our Christmas tree turned out this year. I wanted something that would look great with my new love of farmhouse style…and I knew that I wanted it to be mostly white.

Yes…I have a little farm picket fence around my tree. It helps keep two little puppies from getting to the tree and all the presents that will soon be under there.

Since I was totally redoing the tree for this year…I knew that I needed to be thrifty and stay within a budget. I purchased the felt birds on clearance last year after Christmas and I picked up a package of white feathers at the craft store of a $1.00 and added them to the birds a couple of days ago…

I purchased the acorns, pinecones, and the Joy & Noel ornaments all for half price at the end of the season last year. Picked up the ball ornaments from the dollar store and the little rustic red flower ornaments at a discount store for $1.00 each. My sister gave me the beaded snowflakes and the other snowflakes & icicles were my grandmother’s.

And now I have a beautiful new tree this year and I didn’t break the bank. I did more Christmas decorating today and will be back soon to share it with you.

I’m linking up to these parties….

May the joy of this season…be a joy that stays with you always.       blessings, Cindy
